The Photography of Susan Piccole

October 1st – October 31st

Artist Statement:

Hello, I am Susan Piccole. I am an amateur photographer, poet, and artist. My inspiration comes from nature and current events. This exhibition is a sample of some of my favorite photographs. I want my photos to tell a story, and to elicit an emotional response.

The photos I have chosen are from my travels and also from my exploration of the local treasures that are all around us. I recommend everyone grab their camera or their phone and take photos.

I hope you enjoy the pictures that I have chosen. For the most part only minimal editing has been done. I have used a program on my computer to do minor straightening, sharpening, and changing from color to black and white. The photo of the Pink House has been Photoshopped to remove power lines and to make it more one dimensional.

I am currently working on illustrating some of my own poems, and when I have a few more done I will be able to share my results. Another project that is in the planning stage is having some local young artists collaborate with me to illustrate a poem about the Ipswich River.
