2021 Flint Poetry Contest

Celebrate National Poetry Month this April by participating in the Flint Public Library’s Poetry Contest! All ages are invited to submit their original poems for the chance to win an awesome prize. Not a poet? Not a problem! You can still participate by voting for your favorite poems and sharing the love of literature!

How to Enter

Submissions will be accepted between Thursday, April 1st and Friday, April 16th at noon. You may only submit one original poem (it can be any length or form), and your submission should include your name, grade (for teens and children), and phone number, as well as the title or first line of the poem.

Please email cpope@flintpublib.org to submit your poem, or if you have any questions.

How to Vote

Beginning on Monday, April 19th, all submissions will be displayed anonymously online at flintpoetrycontest.wordpress.com. We will also be distributing booklets with the contest entries through our lobby pickup service beginning on Tuesday, April 20th.

Voting will take place between Monday, April 19th and Friday, April 30th at noon. You can vote online at
flintpoetrycontest.wordpress.com, or by calling the library or emailing cpope@flintpublib.org. You are allowed only one vote per category.
